The elementary GTK has received some updates!
The big changes in the new GTK are the new Metacity theme. Totem has received some customizations including some sexy new monchromes.

It also uses some of the new stuff from the latest murrine so panel text gets an etched look.

Download the latest update from PPA: https://launchpad.net/~elementaryart/+archive/elementarydesktop
Great update! Just one thing… The Nautilus change from light blue on the left to gray makes it a bit drab. thx for a great theme!
Good work as always. The new metacity controls are clearer and a welcome improvement.
What font are you using with elementary theme in this screen shots? it’s awesome. Also what font hinting are you using & font size?, dpi? . In short i want a look like this on my desktop. Please help me. thanks.
I believe that the font Dan is using is still Droid. If you currently don’t have it installed, it can be downloaded from here. If on Ubuntu information on installing fonts can be found here.
Got the new Metacity through the PPA and like the new menu-button! However, the close-button doesn’t seem to be aligned to the same baseline as the other buttons anymore! It’s superior. Don’t like that. Did this change come intentionally or is it a glitch?
Thanks!
@ Ashcroft,
Hmm.. Well the close button is in fact aligned the same as the other buttons :p Maybe you are experiencing some kind of bug…
Thank you very much for your reply, Dan! I found out that this glitch depends on the font-setting for the window-titles. I’m using LucidaMacBold 9pt. If I decrease the font-size to 7pt (which I find too small) all buttons are aligned on the same height again. I guess it all depends on a single tag for the close-button in the metacity-theme-1.xml – however, I’m too unfamiliar with the syntax to kill the bug on my own.
ah, okay good catch. I’ll see if I can fix that
Very good work, I love your project.
The only thinh I change is the “main” grey: is too dark for me, I usually change it to a lighter gray
You are doing are great job, Elementary is the best theme a Linux distribution ever had. Congratulations!
I love this gtk… the controls are definitely what has won me over (they remind me of that lucidity gtk mock-up that popped up on OMG!Ubuntu! awhile back).
One problem I’m having is that the gnome-panel doesn’t display correctly if I set a transparency or background image– the any applets show up still with the system color for the background so the panel isn’t uniform. Is this a bug in one of the engines?
